Wink Martindale

Wink Martindale  TV Personality, Game Show Host

Winston C. Martindale was born and reared in Jackson, Tennessee.  Nicknamed "Wink" by a boyhood friend, he began working as a radio announcer at the age of 17, while attending Memphis State University from which he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

In 1957, Martindale recorded the million-selling classic "Deck of Cards" which is still a standard in narrative recordings.

After hosting radio and TV music programs for a number of years, Martindale hosted "What's This Song", his first game show, in 1965.  He has been a familiar presence on TV for over 30 years, hosting a number of hit shows.
