Jackson is located in Madison County in the heart of West Tennessee. It is approximately 120 miles southwest of Nashville and 80 miles northeast of Memphis on Interstate 40. Census 2000 indicates the population of Jackson is 59,643 with a county population of 91,837. It serves as a commercial, medical and entertainment hub for many counties in West Tennessee.
