
Preschool Storytime each Tuesday at 10:30am
and Friday at 9:30am & 10:30am.
- If Madison County Schools are closed for the day due to inclement weather all children’s events (for both libraries) will be canceled for that day.
- If schools are closed during the school day for inclement weather, all children’s events (for both libraries) will be canceled immediately for the day from the time the announcement is made.
- Any events on the weekend will be handled on a day by day basis. Library staff will make a decision as soon as possible and alert the public.
We do our best to post cancellations on this blog, Facebook, and we try to send out an email to our parent email list.

Storytimes:
- Preschool Storytimes: Tuesdays at 10:30am and Fridays at 10:30am. Ages birth-5.
- Reading with Red. Fridays at 9:30am. Join Red, the mascot from Red Robin Restaurant as his friends read stories. After listening to ten stories, child will receive free kids meal from Red Robin! All children welcome

- Jackson Chess Club. The Jackson Chess Club meets every Sunday afternoon at 2pm in the Program Center. They welcome everyone from people who want to learn to play, novice player and experts!
- Art Class with Mr. Poppelaars! We have decided to offer an “open studio” class. Classes are held on Saturday mornings from 10:30am-1pm in the Little Friends Room. Mr. Poppelaars invites anyone ages 8 and up and of all experience levels to join his free Art program. Saturday February 6, 10am-12n. Jackson Sun Snippers. Want to get the most out of your dollar at the grocery store? Come learn how to make coupons work for you in this informational meeting. Ages: Adults Program Center.
Thursday February 4, 12n-1pm. Friends of the Library First Thursday Book Review. Join the Friends of the Library as they welcome Dr. Michael Bertrand, author of the book Race, Rock and Elvis. You are welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy during the program. Ages: Adults Program Center.
Thursday February 11, 6:30pm. West Tennessee Genealogical Society Meeting. Join the West Tennessee Genealogical Society for their monthly meeting. Everyone Welcome! Ages: Adults. Program Center.

Thursday February 25, 5-6:30pm—Big Read Kickoff Party @ the Discovery Museum. Please join us for the Kick Off Party for The Big Read. Come to the Discovery Museum at the Carnegie in downtown Jackson for a fun event which will include a Jack London impersonator, music from the time period of the Klondike Gold Rush, and great food. You will also be able to pick up free copies of the book! (The Discovery Museum is at 305 East College, just down the street from the Main Library.) Saturday February 27, 2-4pm, sessions each half hour. Panning for Gold. Have you ever wondered how they panned for gold during the Gold Rush? Well come down to the Main Library and sign up for this fun activity. You just might find some REAL gold to take home!
