Jackson-Madison County Library Children's Events May - July, 2008

We would like to invite all kids to submit an art project with the theme "Starship Adventure @ Your Library" to the Main Downtown Library during the month of May and June.  These can be art projects, coloring pages, collages, models, drawings, paintings . . .use your imagination!  Anything regarding space will be accepted and appreciated.  These projects will be showcased in the children's department during this summer's Summer Reading Program, June 4- July 16.  Below are links to craft projects and coloring pages available on the internet.  These are only suggestions to get you started, feel free to let your imagination run free!  Drop them off at the Main Downtown Library anytime in May or June and be sure to look for your work when you visit the library this summer during our Summer Reading Program!  Be sure to put your name on your art and indicate if you will be picking it up at the end of July.  Feel free to contact me with questions here at the library!  (425-8600 ext. 4 or at JMCL.Childrens@lssi.com)    CRAFT IDEAS 3D Star Astronaut out of TP Rolls Martian out of TP Roll Orbiting Earth Phases of the Moon Space Collage Craft Galactic Mobile Saturn Craft Alien Yarn Bug Zany Alien Accordion Arm Robot Alien Puppet Alien from Outer Space Flying Saucer Fling Out of This World Pretend Paper Planets Rocket to Outer Space Solar System Craft     COLORING PAGES (several options to choose from on each site)   Space Vehicles Aliens Various Space Scenes Simple Space Pages       Wondering about Summer Reading Program? Stay- at -Home Moms Book Club

The Stay- at -Home Moms Book Club meets in the Little Friends Room on the third Thursday of each month from 10:00a.m.-12:00 noon.

 

                                   
 Preschool Story time  

 All activities are held in the Little Friends Room at the Library.

Groups with 8 or more children are asked to call and schedule a special time:  731-425-8600.

Please observe age limits for groups.  Activities are designed for the ages indicated.  Older or younger children may be restless and disrupt the group.
